To be Equipped

Ephesians‬ ‭2‬:‭8‬-‭10‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

“For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, not of works, lest anyone should boast. For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand that we should walk in them.”

The Bible emphasizes on the fact that we are saved by JESUS for good works to the end of glorifying GOD our father in heaven.

Matthew‬ ‭5‬:‭14‬, ‭16‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

““You are the light of the world. A city that is set on a hill cannot be hidden. Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works and glorify your Father in heaven.”

The Bible also emphasizes on the need and importance to be first equipped before we can do good works that’ll glorify our GOD in heaven.

II Timothy‬ ‭3‬:‭16‬-‭17‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

“All Scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness, that the man of God may be complete, thoroughly equipped for every good work.”

Hebrews‬ ‭13‬:‭20‬-‭21‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

“Now may the God of peace who brought up our Lord Jesus from the dead, that great Shepherd of the sheep, through the blood of the everlasting covenant, make you complete in every good work to do His will, working in you what is well pleasing in His sight, through Jesus Christ, to whom be glory forever and ever. Amen.”

what does it mean to be equipped?

For everything we want to do, just think about it, to be successful even if is as little as going shopping, we need to be equipped with the right things we need from money, shopping bags, list of groceries we need to get to be successful upon our return from the grocery store.

Can a farmer go to the farm without their tools, or a fisherman go fishing without their tool, or a hiker go hiking without their tool, imagine how that day will look like for them if they are to be productive; frustrating, time consuming; Yes?

I saw this quote by Emmert Wolf wrote that "a man is only as good as his tools", and it remains true even to this very day. 

So also us, we can’t do what GOD wants us to DO without being fully and rightly equipped for good works.

To be equipped means we are fully and most importantly rightly prepared, ready with all we need in every and all necessary areas; all round for the success of our assignment/work.

Now the definition emphasizes to be fully, completely equipped, not partially, because even if you have every tool you need and only one is missing; it can lead to frustration. the definition also emphasizes rightly; because what’s a farmer going to the farm for with a fishing hook?

Knowledge Equipping

Knowledge of who you are in CHRSIT, what God has called you to do and be, HIS perfect will for your life.

Character Equipping

Colossians 3:10 New Living Translation

Put on your new nature, and be renewed as you learn to know your Creator and become like him.

Colossians‬ ‭3‬:‭12‬-‭14‬, ‭17‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

“Therefore, as the elect of God, holy and beloved, put on tender mercies, kindness, humility, meekness, longsuffering; bearing with one another, and forgiving one another, if anyone has a complaint against another; even as Christ forgave you, so you also must do. But above all these things put on love, which is the bond of perfection. And whatever you do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through Him.”

But we all, with unveiled face, beholding as in a mirror the glory of the Lord, are being transformed into the same image from glory to glory, just as by the Spirit of the Lord.

These are just two areas of our equipping for the work GOD has called us to do. There are so many other areas GOD equips us with, even to the right company/relationships; financial/resources equipping.......

How does this work then?

The Holy Spirit is the one that works in you to do and will of HIS good pleasure. Allow Him reveal, lead, guide and equip you with all you need in all areas, and it is a ever continuous process; that's why its a journey, our walk with GOD, it is a continuous process of being forever enlightened, equipped and empowered; we grow as we walk with GOD. we absolutely cannot do it on our own, we are ever dependent on GOD to help us, equip us fully and rightly.

Thank YOU LORD JESUS for dying on the cross of Calvary for my sins and saving me from eternal condemnation; really thank YOU LORD JESUS🙏

Thank YOU LORD because I am saved for purposeful good works to glorify GOD in heaven. LORD help me and equip me right with all I need from being who YOU want me to be, to being able to do the work you have called me to do; HOLY SPIRIT help me, equip me with the right knowledge, character, tools so I can live a life that is holy and acceptable unto YOU my FATHER, a life that brings Glory to YOU LORD. Thank you LORD, this we pray and ask in JESUS name; Amen.
