Joshua 21:45 NKJV
“Not a word failed of any good thing which the Lord had spoken to the house of Israel. All came to pass.”
God taught me a lesson the other day using my lost AirPods.
Story time and be patient, there is a lesson here; trust me.
I had forgotten an ear of my sister’s AirPods at work on a Friday; I didn’t realise until I had gotten home and she asked jokingly why one ear of her AirPods was in another city which was where I went to work; and truly when I opened the case, the right AirPod was missing. Now I was shocked and immediately sorry to her cos I misplaced the left AirPods already so now; the AirPods case was empty.
I said a quick prayer that LORD pls let me find the AirPods safe and secure when I get to work Monday; and immediately GOD told me not to worry that I was going to find the AirPods and it’s safe, GOD assured me. I immediately told my sister that she shouldn’t worry cos she was already sad seeing as I misplaced the left ear already, I told her not to worry that I’ll find it cos GOD told me it’ll be there, she thought I was joking but I fully assured her.
Now I had full confidence cos I felt rest in my spirit especially since GOD told me it’ll be there; I wasn’t even worried that people would work weekends and the office will be cleaned, I had peace and absolute rest that I’d fine it.
Now remember I also misplaced the other ear previously, I still tracked it but I never had any feeling or leading that it’ll be found but this was different and I told my sister that I’ll find it on Monday for sure.
And trust me I didn’t worry about it again; cos I knew GOD said it; HE’LL find a way to keep it safe and secure till Monday morning.
Now fast forward to Monday and I walked boldly and excited to the desk I knew I left the AirPods on, and lo and behold; when I looked, no AirPods. I was like wait a min; I searched and searched, looked around the office everywhere; no AirPods; spent a few good mins looking, still nothing. After a while I gave up and I said but GOD you told me I’ll find it and you’ll keep it safe; like YOU GOD told me, I had peace, rest, I was 100% sure I’ll find it, so what happened? Did I hear wrongly? What happened?
I gave up, I was like yeah okay it’s gone and carried on with my work, tbh sad, disappointed especially since I know GOD told me for sure I’d find it.
Fast forward to a couple of mins later; one of my colleagues came to meet me and said hey are you by any chance looking for one ear of your AirPods, that one of the weekend workers found it and texted her; I immediately said oh my yes pls. She got the AirPods from her colleague and then gave me; I excitedly thanked her and GOD as I collected it and kept it in the case to charge.
I was so happy, thanking GOD, I texted my sister immediately and said see I told you GOD said I’ll find it still; and you know what GOD told me while I was happy I got the pods; ‘see I told you; you just had to be patient daughter(HE CALLED ME BY NAME)’; and this was the lesson GOD ministered to me right then immediately ‘That sometimes GOD tells us something and we might have envisioned how that will happen, but that might not be the way GOD will make it happen or the timing of it; but it doesn’t mean GOD lied, no no no; absolutely not!.
Like when GOD told me I’d find the AirPods, I immediately concluded and envisioned that it means it’ll be right where I left it and also I’d find it there; and when it didn’t happen that way; I became sad, lost hope and started doubting if okay that was GOD speaking.
Isn’t this what some of us go through?
GOD doesn’t work on our timings or ways.
Isaiah 55:8 NKJV
““For My thoughts are not your thoughts, Nor are your ways My ways,” says the Lord.”
HIS word is forever yea and amen.
Isaiah 55:10 NKJV
““For as the rain comes down, and the snow from heaven, And do not return there, But water the earth, And make it bring forth and bud, That it may give seed to the sower And bread to the eater,”
Isaiah 55:11 NKJV
“So shall My word be that goes forth from My mouth; It shall not return to Me void, But it shall accomplish what I please, And it shall prosper in the thing for which I sent it.”
Don’t be like me in my example above that when things don’t seem to happen the way we already have imagined, we loose hope; NO NO; GOD ways or time isn't ours.
You have that word, continuously hold on to it and run with it; for GOD has said it; it’ll surely come to pass, Tho it tarry it will surely happen.
Now it might not look like it; Joseph had a dream; what he went through didn’t look like what GOD showed him; before Abraham had Isaac; the process didn’t look like it; but they both held on to what GOD told them; they trusted and were obedient till the very end.
Another quick example; the story of the children of Isreal; when GOD told them HE had heard their cry and was going to deliver them, they rejoiced and worshipped him; moments later cos things were not going well for them, they lost hope in the promise of deliverance and started complaining, even when Moses went back to still encourage them; the Bible says they refused to listen to him anymore; they completely lost all hope:
Exodus 4:31 NKJV
“So the people believed; and when they heard that the Lord had visited the children of Israel and that He had looked on their affliction, then they bowed their heads and worshiped.”
Exodus 5:20-23 NKJV
“Then, as they came out from Pharaoh, they met Moses and Aaron who stood there to meet them. And they said to them, “Let the Lord look on you and judge, because you have made us abhorrent in the sight of Pharaoh and in the sight of his servants, to put a sword in their hand to kill us.” So Moses returned to the Lord and said, “Lord, why have You brought trouble on this people? Why is it You have sent me? For since I came to Pharaoh to speak in Your name, he has done evil to this people; neither have You delivered Your people at all.””
Exodus 6:9 NLT
“So Moses told the people of Israel what the Lord had said, but they refused to listen anymore. They had become too discouraged by the brutality of their slavery.”
But what was the testimony of the Israelites? Weren’t they delivered from the pharaoh and Egyptians? Didn’t they get to the promise land? Not one word GOD said to them fell to the ground, all were accomplished glory to GOD!
Look also at the story of Lazarus in John 11:
John 11:1, 4 NKJV
“Now a certain man was sick, Lazarus of Bethany, the town of Mary and her sister Martha. When Jesus heard that, He said, “This sickness is not unto death, but for the glory of God, that the Son of God may be glorified through it.””
John 11:32 NKJV
“Then, when Mary came where Jesus was, and saw Him, she fell down at His feet, saying to Him, “Lord, if You had been here, my brother would not have died.””
John 11:40-44 NKJV
“Jesus said to her, “Did I not say to you that if you would believe you would see the glory of God?” Then they took away the stone from the place where the dead man was lying. And Jesus lifted up His eyes and said, “Father, I thank You that You have heard Me. And I know that You always hear Me, but because of the people who are standing by I said this, that they may believe that You sent Me.” Now when He had said these things, He cried with a loud voice, “Lazarus, come forth!” And he who had died came out bound hand and foot with graveclothes, and his face was wrapped with a cloth. Jesus said to them, “Loose him, and let him go.””
Yes JESUS promised Mary and Martha that the sickness is not unto death, that Lazarus won’t die.
Now Jesus didn’t go immediately, they probably thought when HE said that, it meant JESUS would come immediately and heal him and when JEUSS didn’t come when they thought HE would; they concluded that oh Lazarus is dead; they probably didn’t understand or could even fathom GOD raising him up from the dead.
Again their mind were limited in understanding the power of GOD so they lost hope, were already even mourning, even when JESUS finally did come, they said oh if you were here this wouldn’t have happened; they lost hope in the word of JESUS that said “This sickness is not unto death, but for the glory of God, that the Son of God may be glorified through it.”” but you know what JESUS said to them; just believe; and indeed Lazarus was raised up from the dead to the glory of GOD.
How and when GOD wants to do things might not be how you envision it So don’t limit GOD based on your limited mind. How God wants to heal isn’t how you might want to be healed, how GOD wants to bless might not be what you are anticipating; He wants to bless you and you think it’ll come from a person but it might come from a fish mouth.
I also am guilty of this, I know when GOD tells me certain things; I try to envision how it’ll happen, saying oh that means this will happen and this will happen; and when it doesn’t happen, how and when; I loose hope. But again, GOD ways, thoughts isn’t ours. Rather submit to GOD and let HIM.
So let’s our eyes be continually fixed on GOD and hold on strongly with faith and trust in GOD that what HE has said will for sure come to pass and every promise made will be yea and Amen
II Corinthians 1:20 NKJV
“For all the promises of God in Him are Yes, and in Him Amen, to the glory of God through us.”
Why?
Numbers 23:19 NKJV
Because ““God is not a man, that He should lie, Nor a son of man, that He should repent. Has He said, and will He not do? Or has He spoken, and will He not make it good?”
Don’t try to understand the process or the why; our mind don’t really have the capacity to; HE is the almighty GOD so our only response is to follow HIM and trust HIM always.
God might have allowed someone taken my Airpods from the desk to keep because who knows, maybe a cleaner might have come next and cleaned the desk and thrown it away?
See for example when the Israelites left Egypt, maybe some of them thought oh GOD should lead us in this way cos it’s nearer but no it says GOD lead them another way cos it was best for them.
GOD always wants best for us; HE sees everything much that we know so we should trust HIM.
Exodus 13:17-18 NKJV
“Then it came to pass, when Pharaoh had let the people go, that God did not lead them by way of the land of the Philistines, although that was near; for God said, “Lest perhaps the people change their minds when they see war, and return to Egypt.” So God led the people around by way of the wilderness of the Red Sea. And the children of Israel went up in orderly ranks out of the land of Egypt.”
Not one word, not one word failed of any good thing GOD promised Isreal and us; not one word.
Joshua 21:45 NKJV
“Not a word failed of any good thing which the Lord had spoken to the house of Israel. All came to pass.”
You can absolutely trust GOD and always hold on to that promise, word HE has told you; why again? Cos no one wants better for you than GOD so trust the plan, process.
So this is just a post to share with you what GOD told me using the AirPods story. I hope you were blessed as I was 😊
Prayer
Thank you GOD for you are GOD Almighty and forever; thank you for every word YOU have said concerning my life is yes and amen. LORD help me continuously trust in YOU, never to loose hope or be discouraged; I might not understand or even know how; but YOU GOD owns and hold tomorrow and I’ll trust you and follow YOU. I thank YOU GOD because the plans, thought YOU have towards me are good and not of evil and YOU are a good good father. I love YOU forever and ever.
Amen.
